Easthorpe Lodge Visitors Book - page 2

Thank you so much for yet another relaxing time spent at your cottage. This is our third visit to Easthorpe Lodge and we have really enjoyed our time here. We were in need of a 'get away' and what better place to come! Although a lot of attractions weren't open until late in the month it has been a packed week with visits to some places we haven't been to before. The views from Hutton le Hole/Bank Top are stunning. It was lovely to meet you Rebecca, third time lucky, and to be able to tell you, in person, what a fantastic place you have; you have thought of everything!! We hope to be back again soon to spend some more time in Yorkshire.

Spent a great week in this lovely cottage. Warm, cosy and all mod cons. A little gem; a real home from home feel. York, Whitby & Scarborough all within easy reach. We have been staying in cottages for New Year for the last 9 years now and this has got to be one of the best we have stayed in up to now. Thank you Rebecca for a lovely week in your beautiful cottage. You have thought of everything with such care and attention to detail. Good luck for 2011 and we hope to see you again very soon.

We have stayed in the cottage several times and love it (obviously!). We feel at home immediately. Everything is provided for although TV reception can be dodgy. Well if you can't survive without a TV for a while given all the other beautiful sights around you there is nothing more to say. Today we visited the York Railway Museum (for the umpteenth time!) but I never tire of it. The country side has a blanket of snow and is fabulous. Visited Santa at Murton yesterday - a good trip. Scarborough tomorrow (for Fish & Chips - a family tradition) and sadly, home Wednesday. Yet another lovely stay, we will be back.

We have been coming to the area for the last 7 years and Easthopre Lodge is by far one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Unfortunately the weather has been unkind to us and we were snowed in for 3 days, however what a lovely place to be stuck in!! Warm and cosy with everything we could possibly need. Castle Howard is really beautiful and well worth a visit, as is Nunnington Hall. For food we recommend the Stone Trough near Kirkham Priory and also the Fox & Hounds in Swinnington if you're out that way. Locally, Bapa's Cantonese in Norton is excellent. Thank you Rebecca for our welcome gifts and for coming to see that we were ok despite the weather! A real home from home, which we hope to visit again soon.

Easthorpe Lodge is everything we were hoping for - beautiful setting, lovely house and Rebecca has anticipated our every need.  Great location for our son to indulge in his love of trains with both the NRM at York and NYMR at Pickering being so close by.  Other big hits were the adventure playground at Castle Howard and another lovely day at Lockton, 5 miles from Pickering.  The weather was fair too - not too sunny bit agreeably rain free!  We certainly hope to return in the future, thanks Rebecca!

For us Easthorpe Lodge says it all: "Easthorpe" is where it is; "Lodge" is an acronym for what it's meant to us:
L - A Lovely country cottage; O - with Outstanding facilities , all beautifully Organised; D - and a Delightful garden setting Deep in the Yorkshire countryside; G - is for the Goody Goodies left as welcoming Gifts, for which we thank Rebecca; and E - is for the Excellent few days that we've so much Enjoyed here. Walpole would have described our choice of this holiday location as pure serendipity.  Thank you Rebecca.

This was an ideal base for visiting old family and friends, and revisiting old haunts round York.  We appreciated the 'early access' especially.

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay at the Lodge.  We had a lovely holiday.  Would highly recommend a visit to the Railway Museum and the Model Railway Museum beside York Station.  We also enjoyed a visit to Castle Howard and the Air Museum.  The beach and steam railway at Whitby, and Fountains Abbey were also worthwhile.  Many thanks again.

Once again we have had the pleasure of being able to stay in your luxurious cottage and also had the added good fortune of warm sunny weather.  Pure heaven, thank you.

This has been our second visit to Easthorpe Lodge and if anything the cottage and gardens have got better!  Very comfortable and well equipped.  We have been very lucky with the weather and spent our week cycling and walking.  Recommend the mountain bike ride from Scarborough to Whitby.  We are already planning our third visit!  Once again, thank you for providing a lovely cottage.
