Many and varied attractions within easy reach to suit all ages:                                                                                                               

These include: Castle Howard,

Nunnington Hall (National Trust),

Lavender Farms, Walled Gardens (Helmsley & Scampston) and

Museums (including Malton Museum and Eden Camp- an ex World War 2 POW camp).

Flamingoland Zoo and Flamingoland Themepark (including some big rides!) are only 20 minutes away.

The coastal towns of Scarborough, Bridlington, Filey and Whitby (associated with Captain Cook) are less than  an hour away.
Dalby Forest, about half an hour away, has good cyling for families and 'Go- Ape'.


The local countryside is beautiful with excellent walks and good exploration by road and bike. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Dalby Forest, The Howardian Hills, The Yorkshire Wolds as well as The Coast all offer excellent routes.

The cottage is very near to The Centenery Way and the Ebor Way, both of which connect with The Wolds Way and The Cleveland Way.
